I created Moving Pictures because I love films.  I love discussing films, comparing films, analyzing the meaning of films, debating their merit and championing my favorite artists and their work.  Moving Pictures was also born of a desire to give something back to the tradition of film criticism that has so enhanced my understanding and appreciation of the artistry, craftsmanship and decision making that goes into creating films that move me.

I think the reason I love filmmaking so much as an art form is because it’s multidisciplinary.  It involves images, writing, performance and music.  To be moved by a film is such a rich experience, and I believe sharing that experience is a vital part of what it means to be a viewer.

Here you will find reviews and analysis of both new releases and essential films of years past, as well as other film related musings that I humbly deem suitable for public consumption.

I’d also like to give a very special thanks to my Editor, Adelia Jenkins, and my Technical Advisor, Shaun McGuire.
